Seats FAQ

Blake Street Hebrew Congregation is currently engaged in a Seat Acquisition Program, to enhance the seating we provide in the shule.  All members have received information about it, but some questions remain.  Click on any of the questions below to see the answer.  More questions will be added as they come to us.  If you have a question that you would like to see answered here, please email it to the office.

General Questions

Why is the Shule embarking on this program?

What will the funds be used for?

If I donate, will I be allocated one of the new seats?

If I don’t donate will I be moved to the back of the Shule?

What are the timings of this program?

What other changes will there be?

I have heard we will have a new mechitza.  What's the story?

What is the installation date for the seats?


Will this scheme create two classes of members – those who have sponsored seats and those who haven’t?
